February 2-4, 2018
Our sense of who we are develops in our connection with others. At times, our connections with people may leave us with the belief that we are somehow flawed, not enough or too much. These beliefs can be changed in a group that meets our needs for attunement and understanding and which is committed to practicing kindness, acceptance and honesty.
In an atmosphere of mutual support, we will seek to learn and develop skills to improve contact with each other, track awareness of our emotions and corresponding sensations, practice communicating needs effectively, and discover issues that are diminishing the quality of our lives.
The weekend will include time for teaching basic practice, continuum of awareness, as well as a mixture of didactic and experiential exercises, including open seat. We will experiment with tracking emotions as sensations and learn to recognize them as signals calling for awareness and attention, rather than problems to be avoided.
The group will take place in the historic Los Feliz Hills where we will have the chance to practice in a property built in 1923 and used for many years as a spiritual convent. Now privately-owned, we will create a space for our practice while enjoying the lush gardens and greenspace of this unique place. Accommodations are available on Friday and Saturday nights for an additional $250 per person.
